Felix Burns was a prolific composer of light classical and popular dance music. He published 16 dance albums, each containing a complete evening's programme of traditional dances. The varied programmes include tunes of different moods, from light waltzes and easy saunters, to dramatic tangos, brisk military two-steps and lively Schottisches. The dance albums usually included a country dance and ended with Sir Roger de Coverley and God Save The King.
The pieces are eminently accessible, and suitable for players looking for easy to intermediate pieces to extend their repertoire; they were originally written for piano, with other band parts separately available. This product is a new edition of the music, edited and re-created in modern format, we do not sell scans.
The Dickens Dance Album was published in 1922, two years after Felix Burns' death, by his eldest son, Felix junior. The tunes have titles from characters of Charles Dickens, or places associated with him.
