More info

Felix Burns published 16 dance albums, each containing a complete evening's programme of traditional dances. The varied programmes include tunes of different moods, from light waltzes and easy saunters, to dramatic tangos, brisk military two-steps and lively Schottisches.  The dance albums usually included a country dance and ended with Sir Roger de Coverley and God Save The King (the music for which was usually included, but not in this case).

The pieces are eminently accessible, and suitable for players looking for easy to intermediate pieces to extend their repertoire; they were originally written for piano, with other band parts separately available.

Please click on the links for the individual pieces to hear audio samples.

The 12 pieces in this album are:

Sons of Empire - Grand March
Queen of the Rink - waltz
Merry and Bright - barn dance
The Cornstalk - Lancers
An English Rose - waltz cotillon
Many happy days - polka
Rough riders - two-step
Devotion - veleta waltz
Maple Leaf - schottische
The Kitchener - military two-step
The Selfridge - quadrilles
Stirling Castle - highland schottische
